Abstract.
The article is devoted to the conception of the independent value world existence and the possibility of a priori hierarchical relationships between values developed by M. Scheler. Those axiomatic regulations are analyzed, according to which values are perceived by the individual as a subject of value cognition while remaining independent of it. The author considers such notions as the hierarchy, “height”, gradation of values that are revealed through a special act of value cognition - preference.
