Abstract.
The article undertakes an attempt to reveal the phenomenon of ancient Greek Paideia in the context of the ontological foundations of education. The authors show that Plato and Isocrates were at the origins of the classical form of ancient Greek Paideia. The reflections of ancient Greek thinkers about the accessibility of education, the right to choose teachers, and control over educational process are relevant as never before in the system of modern education in our times.
