FEATURES OF CHARITY IN TWO TYPES OF SOCIETY: TRADITIONAL AND MODERN ONES

Abstract.
The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of social interest in charity. The need to study social-historical conditions, in which charity originates, allows distinguishing between two interpretations of this phenomenon. The first point of view is that compassion was a normal social and religious practice in traditional society. The second point of view is associated with the emergence of market society, the prospects of which expand the scope of the moral consciousness of the person making compassion a part of modern culture.
