Abstract. The article deals with personal identification on the Internet in the period of the development of virtual platforms for communication on the basis of social networks. It is shown that the process of identification is conditioned by the level of society development and characterized by gradation from the full anonymity and confidentiality of the participants of virtual communication in the initial period of social networks formation to the authentic identification of the personality now. Conclusions about the impact of this process on the formation of the spiritually rich and intelligent individual are made.
