VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW BY TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

Abstract. The article aims to examine the problem of the existing violations of international law on the part of transnational corporations conducting international business. The author analyzes in detail such unlawful act as illegal mining of natural resources under war conditions and exporting them from the country of origin. As an example the researcher explores the situation established in the Democratic Republic of Congo for the period of 2003-2013. The paper analyzes the immediate activity of the following transnational corporations: Hussar Limited, Uganda Commercial Impex Limited (UCI), Argor-Heraeus SA.
