LEGAL REGULATION OF REGISTERING BIOLOGICAL OBJECTS’ DNA DATA IN RUSSIA

Abstract. The article examines the possibilities to use the information contained in the criminalistic registration of biological objects’ DNA data for the identification of certain categories of persons with a view to reveal and investigate crimes. Relying on the analysis of the current Russian and foreign legislation regulating the issues of genomic registration and the criminalistic registration of DNA-profiles the author argues for the necessity to broaden the list of the persons subjected to obligatory genomic registration in the Russian Federation with a view to raise the efficiency of this registration in struggle against crime.
