Abstract.
The article presents a study of the problem of the differentiation and co-determination of different levels of security (human security, societal and state security, global security) by the material of some representative concepts and theories developed in leading western approaches in the field of security study - the concepts of societal security, security community, human security, K. Booth’s theory of emancipation. Ontological, epistemological and axiological prerequisites are highlighted in the analyzed theories.
