CIRCASSIAN ORGANIZATIONS IN ISTANBUL DURING “THE TRUCE PERIOD” IN 1918-1922

Abstract.
The article deals with the activity of the organizations that were created by the representatives of the North Caucasian diaspora in Istanbul occupied by the Entente troops during the “truce period” in 1918-1922. On the basis of the analysis of the policy documents of the societies the characteristic of their views and objectives that reflected the evolution of Circassian ethno-national movement in the country at the stated stage is given. The reasons, which led to the gradual decay of the Circassian elite’s activity at the beginning of the 1920s, are identified.
