Abstract.
The article is devoted to the study of the process of the development of market trade in the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the period of the Great Patriotic War. The author undertakes an attempt to evaluate the significance of collective farm markets in the food provision of the residents of the republic. The role of central and republican Soviet and party organizations in the development of market trade is noted. Special attention is paid to the problems, which the party and state structures of Dagestan faced with while optimizing the work of urban markets; the means of their solution are revealed.
