Abstract. The article examines the existential concept “marginal situation” in the context of the co-existential co-existence problem. The concept “marginal situation” was introduced by the German philosopher K. Jaspers. The author tries to re-interpret this concept in relation to the co-existential co-existence problem. Consequently the marginal situation is considered as a situation determining the marginal meanings of co-existence through the negation of co-existence experience itself. Moreover, the researcher tries to identify the positive meaning of the marginal situation as a crucial provision and possibility for conscious co-existence.
