Abstract.
The article examines in detail the creative activity by the prima donna Maria Malibran. The author identifies certain peculiarities of the performance style of the García dynasty’s representatives. The paper justifies Malibran’s role in romantic opera formation. The peculiar features of the prima donna’s performance style are considered by the example of opera parts and separate compositions created for her. The researcher provides rare facts regarding the French and Italian opera art of the Romanticism epoch.
