Abstract.
The article examines the phenomenon of the sense-forming ideas of the reformation of Russian justice in the second half of the XIX century, the role of reformers in the formation of new philosophy of justice combining liberal ideas, democratic principles and common law at the same time; the topicality of the ideas of justice, their influence on legal culture and legal awareness in the Russian society, significance for the search of truth and fairness consolidation in modern justice are researched.
