RELIGIOUS PILGRIMAGE IN RUS

Abstract.
The article is devoted to the religious pilgrimage phenomenon in Rus, which is considered in spatial and temporal contexts. Special attention is paid to the pilgrim as an object of anthropological study through the genesis and ontology of the phenomenon. Also, the emphasis is made on the development of space by the pilgrim through the way, his/her peculiar thinking, the pivotal motive of religious pilgrimage - impossibility to rest on anything finite of the material world. The intention of the pilgrim and his/her metaphysical feature are revealed, without which religious pilgrimage cannot be realized as a specific object of philosophical research and a socio-cultural phenomenon.
