CHANGING THE STATUS OF GREAT BRITAIN IN THE SYSTEM OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AFTER WORLD WAR II

Abstract.
The article examines the problem of the change of the political status of Great Britain and the transformation of the foreign-policy conception of the country after World War II. The causes, which led the country to the loss of the leading role in international relations, are analyzed. As a result of the analysis it is revealed that this process was long enough and included a complex of factors that became the key ones in the loss of bygone supremacy by Great Britain. Special attention is paid to gradual rapprochement between Great Britain and the USA and, as a consequence, to the formation of special relations between the countries.
