POPULARITY OF STYLES AND GENRES OF JAZZ AND ROCK MUSIC AT THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURY: RESULTS OF A MUSICAL OPINION POLL

Abstract.
In the article the author compiles and comprehends a pattern of the music styles of modern popular music on the basis of an opinion poll. The musical opinion poll of such type has been carried out for the first time in domestic musicology for a long period. It allowed concluding that now musical culture is formed with the elements of the musical language of first of all jazz and rock; the “hip hop” style has a significant impact in music industry; the elements of the artistic language of rock music are mostly in demand at the moment. The author proposes, on the basis of the views of the audience, to identify the trends and ways of the development of modern musical-artistic language.
