Abstract.
The article reveals the essence of scientific and technical activity. Considering the logic of the development of the modern society it can be concluded that scientific and technical activity is a human activity type that determines social progress. The disclosure of its specificity in modern conditions becomes relevant in connection with objective technicalization of reality and the formation of the “outline” of the society of a new type, which will come after the definitive completion of the information revolution stage.
