Abstract.
Basing on the documentary materials of the State Archive of Contemporary History of North Ossetia-Alania and periodicals the article studies the issues of Soviet leaders rotation in Vladikavkaz (Ordzhonikidze) during 1924-1933. The authors consider the role of the North Caucasian Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party in the renewal of the city managers corps. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the basic social-demographic characteristics (age, social origin, nationality) and the reconstruction of the collective professional portrait of the chairmen of the District Executive Committee (The City Executive Committee).
