Abstract.
The article considers the activity of Saratov Zooveterinary Institute during the Great Patriotic War. Basing on archival data the following directions of the higher education establishment are analyzed: agitation, educational, scientific and public ones. The paper reveals the reasons that influenced the educational process at the higher education establishment in 1941-1945: changes in the number of the students and teachers composition, the problem of lack of training areas, household complexity. The conclusion is made about radical restructuring in the work of Saratov Zooveterinary Institute under the wartime conditions.
