NOTION OF “NOTHINGNESS” IN THE CONTEXT OF “SELF-DECEPTION” IN “BEING AND NOTHINGNESS” BY JEAN-PAUL SARTRE

Abstract.
The article presents a philosophical textological analysis of some fragments of the treatise by J.-P. Sartre “Being and Nothingness”. The author examines in detail how Sartre reveals presence of “nothingness” in the context of “self-deception”. The hermeneutic approach to the historical-philosophical analysis of notions, according to which their meaning is impossible to reconstruct without referring to conceptual environment of philosophical texts under study, is a basis of the author’s view. It is also noted that the considered notions are not limited by the text of “Being and Nothingness” but refer to works by Hegel, Husserl, and Heidegger.
