Abstract.
Active involvement of university students in social-economic problems solution in the 1970s contributed to sustainable development of the national economy within the Altai Territory. Basing on a wide range of sources the article reveals the process of formation and development of labour and social initiatives in student construction brigades. By specific examples the author shows significant contribution of Altai students to social-economic development of the region.
