Abstract.
The article analyzes the role of Buryat local identity in preserving ethnic identity of the Buryat diaspora in Mongolia. For the first time the basic elements characterizing the Buryat diaspora’s local identity are identified. The paper describes peculiarrities of cultural and social life of ethnic territorial groups, shows their role in self-identity formation among tribal groups of the Buryat community.
