Abstract.
The article states that the status of communication science as an academic discipline is still very uncertain. It is due to the fact that this notion doesn’t only nominate a special scientific discipline, but it also acts as a collective name for a broad field of interdisciplinary researches, the total area of various directions, conceptions, theories in social and pertaining to the humanities scientific discourse of communication. The philosophical analysis of the phenomenon of communication helps to summarize and integrate existing knowledge about communication, make the foundation of science about communication.
