Abstract.
The article focuses on the Tatar satirical graphics of the 1920-1930s. The author analyzes the international theme development in the pages of “Chayan” magazine, shows how the themes varied depending on specifics of international policy and the state’s interests. The paper identifies two periods - the 1920s and the 1930s. The same periods represent the magazine’s artistic peculiarities: a limited number of painters and their semi-professional level in the 1920s, a large number of experts in satirical graphics in the 1930s.
