Abstract.
The article traces the origin of the earliest forms of musical folkloric theatre. In this connection the paper analyzes the ritual structure of the wedding ceremony. The author emphasizes historical value of the Russian musical theatre as a unique phenomenon and discovers ancient forms of the traditional musical theatre. The features of theatrical dramatic performance are identified in the content of the wedding ritual. Special attention is paid to the categorial and conceptual apparatus.
