Abstract.
The article analyzes the conception of the ethno-linguistic factor, its essence and importance. The current situation of modern Russian society requires, on the one hand, to preserve identity of indigenous peoples, their traditions, and, on the other hand, to develop state identity, special self-consciousness within the framework of co-existence of different cultures. In this case the ethno-linguistic factor can integrate language, culture, history and other components included in the sphere of national consciousness formation.
