Abstract. The article is devoted to a topical problem of addictive behavior. Novelty is philosophical comprehension of the problem, consideration of addictive self in the context of existential communication. The identified limitations and possible resources of addictive self are presented. The most serious limitations in actualization of addictive self are its ontological uncertainty, low frustration tolerance, conformity and concealment as a consequence of primary deficiency. Antidote to addiction is actualization of self, its filling through the process of individuation, through actualization in acts of conscious choice, experience, and attitude.
