Abstract.
In the article the form of government of the Republic of Kosovo is studied in detail, and impact of international mediators on the process of establishing the form of government of the Republic of Kosovo is considered. Significant attention is paid to the phenomenon of “disputed states”; a generalized description of “disputed states” is given and the Republic of Kosovo is referred to this group of states. Proceeding from the revealed peculiarities of formation and development of the Republic of Kosovo in the international arena, and also by analyzing provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo the author comes to the conclusion that the form of government in this “disputed state” is atypical.
