Abstract.
The article deals with problems of terminology arising in the study of a modern phenomenon in design referred to as “digital sculpture”, “sculpting”, “sculptural modeling”, “3D sculpting”. It is stated that at present there is no single term and definition that characterizes this phenomenon. It is suggested considering digital sculpture as a kind of 3D modeling, in which special computer programs, using simple tools, perform operations with a 3D object manipulating it as material objects of academic sculpture, for example, clay.
