Abstract.
Ethno-confessional composition of national minorities in the State of Israel is analyzed in the paper. These are peoples, who are Christians (not Arabs), as well as social strata professing other religions (neither Judaism nor Islam) or not belonging to any religious group: the Druze, the Circassians, the Alawis, the Armenians, the Russians, the Greeks, the Ethiopians, etc. The author comes to the conclusion that the Israelites have not established themselves as a nation yet and the dominant role in the country is played by the citizen’s self-identification not as “I am an Israeli”, but as “I am a Jew, an Arab, a Druze, etc.”.
