Abstract.
The article examines the ecological traditions of nomadic peoples, in particular the Kyrgyz people, which include experience, skills, perception of the world, traditions and customs, ideas about the environment of previous generations in interrelation with the natural environment. It is shown that in order to solve social and environmental problems in Kyrgyzstan, the most effective mechanism is the formation and development of ecological culture based on the traditions of the people in the field of ecology. Modern ecological culture should be aimed at the future and become a factor of socio-cultural development, based on the ideas of co-evolution of nature and society.
