COMPARISON OF THE CONTINENTAL AND SCANDINAVIAN SOCIAL STATE MODELS BY THE EXAMPLE OF FINLAND AND FRANCE: HISTORICAL ASPECTS OF FORMATION AND CURRENT STATUS

Abstract. The article touches upon the history of the social state model formation in Finland and France. Today these countries are not only the part of the European civilization but also the European Union member states. The European social model is the basis of socioeconomic development of the European countries. Finland and France represent two (out of four) European social models: the Continental and the Nordic ones. The paper contains comparison of their basic characteristics. The purpose of the study is to clarify the degree of internal differences within the European social model, identifying the most striking common and different features.
