Abstract.
The article reveals the history of the formation of the Tatar merchant class in Western Siberia in the XIX - at the beginning of the XX century. Particular attention is paid to the character and geography of trade. It is shown that in the XIX century the predominant position of the Siberian Bukharians in the trade relations between Russia and the East was weakening. Nevertheless, major Tatar-Bukhara merchants continued to maintain leading positions in trade with Central Asia. The author focuses on the guild merchant class and large merchant clans.
