REACTION OF THE RURAL POPULATION OF THE FAR EAST OF THE USSR TO LOAN CAMPAIGNS AT THE END OF THE 1930S - 1941

Abstract.
On the basis of archival materials the reaction of the rural population of the south of the Far East of the USSR to the state loan campaigns of the end of the 1930s - 1941 is analyzed. The paper considers the activity of central and local Soviet and party-political power and government authorities aimed at the implementation of political-ideological and mass explanatory work for the purpose of the arrangement of loans among the inhabitants of the villages, its achievements and miscalculations. Critical and constructive statements and actions of the rural population of the region are characterized. The author substantiates the idea that the population’s reaction was ambiguous and depended on various political-ideological and socio-economic aspects of the life and social stratum of the rural population in the region.
