Abstract.
The article is a commentary on the ballerina M. N. Gorshkova’s letter addressed to K. Ya. Goleizovsky. The archival document discusses the possibility of creative collaboration between the outstanding choreographer and the legend of the Russian ballet Anna Pavlovna Pavlova. In 1926, the performer of the leading parts in the ballets created by M. I. Petipa on the stage of St. Petersburg Imperial Mariinsky Theater, who supported M. M. Fokin’s innovative ideas, was interested in the avant-garde Moscow choreographer Kasyan Goleizovsky’s performances for her private troupe in Europe. M. N. Gorshkova’s letter dated September 18, 1926 and stored in the archives of the Goleizovsky family is published for the first time.
