Abstract.
Aggression is an integral part of human nature, direct or indirect cause of intrapersonal, interpersonal and intergroup conflicts. The paper aims to show that conflict can be positive in nature and can serve as a dialectical foundation of organizational and social development. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the author justifies conflict-generating nature of academic environment, reveals severe contradictions between components of this culture. The research findings are as follows: the author analyzes prerequisites for conflictogenity in higher education, introduces a definition of university academic culture, describes its systemic components.
