Abstract. The purpose of the study is to identify the specifics of the project for the training of junior medical personnel by Ernst von Bergmann, Professor of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Dorpat, for the Society for the Care of Wounded and Sick Soldiers (the future Russian Red Cross Society). The article discusses the features of the presented document, the process of its discussion and the results adopted by the general directorate. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in Russian historiography, the question of Ernst von Bergmann's contribution to the process of training female medical personnel within the framework of the Society for the Care of Wounded and Sick Soldiers is highlighted. As a result of the research, the main ideas of Ernst von Bergmann on the creation of a unified curriculum for the training of female medical personnel to work in military hospitals and in the theater of military operations, the requirements for candidates, the duration of training and his vision of the organization of the educational process were revealed.
