Abstract. The study aims to determine the value of distance and other information and digital technologies in the context of the educational process of children’s music school and children’s art school. The article touches upon a number of problems caused by distance communication, in particular sound distortion and reduced emotional contact with students, but a favorable home environment and technical modernization contribute to the optimization of educational activities. In addition, attention is paid to the potential of distance learning as an important complementary element in children’s music school / children’s art school, expanding the educational route for students (preparation, consultations) and teachers (professional development). The forms of distance learning (video lessons, webinars, podcasts), their features and applicability in musical disciplines are investigated. The role of interactive methods (gamification, chats), which are able to stimulate student interest, is emphasized. Axiological aspects of distance learning are considered: accessibility, flexibility, resource savings, significance for remote areas, people with disabilities. The necessity of increasing digital literacy of teachers, students, as well as heads of the affected educational institutions is emphasized. Scientific novelty is due to the fact that for the first time the problems of updating the forms of education through the introduction of distance and other information and digital technologies in the educational activities of children’s additional education institutions (children’s music school / children’s art school) are comprehensively and holistically touched upon. As a result of the research, it was established that the introduction of distance and digital technologies into the educational process of children’s music schools and children’s art schools is an important and promising direction for the development of additional music education. The importance of modern equipment, electronic document management, library systems and artificial intelligence for personalization of learning and automation of tasks is noted.
