Abstract.
The relations between adjectives and participles are complex and ambiguous. In linguistics there is even a conception about the "transition" of participles into adjectives ("adjectivization"). In the article the essence of this phenomenon, the preconditions of its occurrence and also the changes of language (more narrow - parts of speech) system of modern Russian language determined by it are defined.
