Abstract.
In the article the role of introspection while analyzing the private world of a personage of English fiction is investigated. We suppose that if a personage's ideas and feelings are open for a reader, he can better understand the motivation of a personage's actions. Therefore we consider important to pay attention to the lexical-stylistic means which specify that we deal with introspection. Due to the detailed analysis of a personage's private world a reader has the opportunity to feel all the emotional experience of a personage.
