Abstract.
The article is devoted to the consideration of the semantic potential of sentences with the construction es gibt in the modern German language. Special attention is paid to the reasons of communicative failures in inter-cultural communication due to the wrong interpretation of the semantics of language units and misunderstanding of grammatical construction.
