DASTAN ETHNOGRAPHY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the rites from the point of view of the dastan ethnography of the Uzbek folklore. The author tackles the peculiarities of the poetic schools of narrators which existed till the middle of the XXth century. The article contains the detailed description of the opinion concerning the term of the folklore genre terma (dastan fragment). The author comes to the conclusion that the term terma has typological character. He pays special attention to the measures of the gradual slowdown of the disappearance of dastan-singing nowadays.
