Abstract.
The author considers the foundations of surrealism as the picture of the world, describes its world outlook, ethical, and aesthetic components, puts forward the hypothesis for the surrealistic traditions actualization in modern literature of France, conducts the linguo-cultural analysis of stated as research material text “The Prohibited life” by Didier Van Cauwelaert, reveals the content of the new character to surrealism – trickster, and outlines the prospects for further research of surrealistic picture of the world in new artistic coordinates.
