LINGUO-CULTUREME AS UNIT OF CULTURAL MEANINGS DECODING IN LITERARY TEXT TRANSLATION

Abstract.
The author concludes that the translation into another language makes it possible to reveal additional cultural meanings embodied in linguo-cultural text elements (linguo-culturemes), which can be the source of cultural features of linguistic community, reveals the content of the notion “linguo-cultureme”, conducts the comparative analysis of linguo-culturemes in Boris Akunin’s novels and their translations into English, and tells that the results of the conducted research indicate the meaning shift of language nomination towards denotative content in translation but connotative component, containing cultural meaning, remains veiled.
