FUNCTIONING OF CONCEPT “HOME/HOUSE” IN LEXICAL SEMANTICS OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. The author provides the detailed overview of the meanings of the lexemes “Home” and “House” presented in dictionary definitions, as a result of complex analysis of language material models the concept “Home/House” reflected in the English language picture of the world, and singles out at the core of the concept of lexemes “Home” and “House” four basic levels (microfields): 1. “Hearth” (building, family, organization); 2. “Geographic Area” (native land, place of origin of smth. or smb.); 3. “Construction” (dwelling, building, family); 4. “Organization” (organization, institution).
