Abstract. The authors undertake the attempt to analyze the role and place of linguo-cultural stereotypes and linguo-cultural standards in the process of cross-cultural professional-business communication taking into account the impact of globalization on world culture, consider the positive and negative consequences of the phenomenon known as “glocalization”, and describe the results of pilot research of nonlinguistic specialities students’ ideas on how to improve the effectiveness of cross-cultural business communication.
