Abstract.
The author considers the “transformation” as the component of Austrian writer Elias Canetti’s individual mythology by the material of the novel “Auto da Fé”, reveals the peculiarity of the notion “transformation”, pays particular attention to the types of metamorphoses of figures under the influence of certain situations, and touches upon the connection between “transformation” and such themes of E. Canetti’s individual myth-making as mass, power and death.
