ABOUT PEOPLE AND TREES (ON HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN PLOT IN WORKS OF KIRKEGAARD AND LERMONTOV)

Abstract.
The author for the first time compares Lermontov’s ballad “Three Palms” and the parable of the beech by Kierkegaard from the treatise “The Harmonic Development of Human Personality’s Aesthetic and Ethical Principles”, finds the plot-prototype common to both works – apocryphal legend of the Holy Family escape to Egypt, well-known in the European art, and emphasizes the similarity of Kierkegaard’s and Lermontov’s views on the person of the XIX th century – the century of disbelief.
