Abstract.
The article considers the comparisons, collected from the works of the modern English women’s prose, from the point of view of gender linguistics. The comparisons, selected by the method of continuous sampling, are classified by thematic groups depending on the object and image of comparison. An attempt to analyze separately the comparative constructions that characterize men and women is undertaken.
