Abstract.
The article considers the effective realization of persuasion and argumentation in a political leader’s discourse, particularly, the German leader Angela Merkel’s one. The author concentrates on the urgent questions connected with the European Union formation and maintenance and studies the tactics aimed at the realization of one of the main chancellor’s strategies, i.e. the strategy of the European Union positive presentation.
