Abstract. The article is an integrative approach to the language representation of the category “WILL” in the English language. A volitional act involves a number of stages: the intention to perform an act, an attempt to realize this intention, and the perseverance in achieving the result. This category is explicated by a set of different lexical means that is conditioned by its multi-aspect nature.
